"Crashed" written by Devin Gackle, Fall 2013
I chose this song this week because I haven't played it in a while.
It's about being sort of stuck in that place between an ending and a beginning. It's that moment of wondering how to move forward, or if it's even worth the risk.
It's a time where you're just kind of sitting and waiting. For something to happen, for someone to pull you out. For whatever is tugging on the other end of that line to let go.
Maybe you start to think, "I could just stay here forever."
But is living an inbetween life really living? It's easy to be conflicted about where to go with your life when other things in life end. Sometimes we don't even realize we're just sitting and waiting. We might develop a routine that fools us into thinking we're moving on with life.
Personally, my problem with living an inbetween life is I end up fooling myself into believing I'm slightly happy. Sometimes that can be a good thing, and sometimes it can be a bad thing.
Somehow we just get stuck; we just crash, and we use that as an excuse not to move forward.
No matter how you got there, I think it's time to get moving.
